Once the charge goes through, your physician sends the prescription to the pharmacy. 

From there it takes about two weeks for the pharmacy to mix your custom medication and ship it to you. You should receive a tracking number once that occurs. If you did not receive a tracking number or have questions, just send us a text and we’ll get back to you. Our goal is to get your allergies better!

To ensure you do not run out of medications, our pharmacists are asked to slightly overfill your vials. Sometimes this leads to patients having extra vials of their allergy drops.

In general, we recommend you switch out your medication vials every 3 months. This is because we do not put preservatives into your medication so we want to ensure they are at the right potency to get you feeling better. 

If you have extra vials and still want to pause your next shipment please let us know at care@wyndly.com. Ultimately, our goal is to get you feeling and breathing better.

Most patients begin to see the benefits of their sublingual immunotherapy between 3-6 months from when they start. Some patients will notice benefits earlier, and some will notice it later because every patient is different. We expect that most patients will notice improvements by at least one year of therapy. If you have questions, let us know and your doctors are always here to help.

In general, sublingual immunotherapy is very safe. Some common side effects may include itching, burning, or irritation or some allergy symptoms after the drops are taken.  When these occur, they tend to occur right after the drops are taken within 10-30 minutes. These symptoms tend to pass quickly, and if they occur, often we recommend considering an antihistamine to lower them. With time, symptoms tend to improve.

Signs of a rare but potentially severe reaction include shortness of breath, tongue or lip swelling, cramps, vomiting, and a sense of doom (please refer to your allergy reaction sheet for full instructions here).  Thankfully this tends to be very very rare. Those symptoms tend to occur within 30 minutes and warrant a call to 911 and using your epi pen.  Thankfully, this treatment tends to be safe and most patients do really well. We’re excited to get you feeling better.

Some patients will have some allergy symptoms when they take their immunotherapy- this is generally a sign that we have found the right triggers for you. With time, most patients will notice these symptoms will decrease as their immune system gets stronger. If your symptoms are bothersome, we can decrease your dose, or you can take an antihistamine like claritin, or allegra with the medication. Let us know if you’re having too many symptoms and our doctors will connect with you to create a plan.

Don’t worry! This is normal! Immunotherapy works by gradually retraining your immune system. What this means is there will be days when your allergy symptoms are non-existent, but then some times when the triggers are high and you’ll start having symptoms again. With time, most patients begin to notice that the good days far outweigh the bad days, and most patients towards the end of therapy notice very minimal if any symptoms. This is why therapy takes about 3 years. If you have questions, reach out and our doctors will work with you to get you feeling better using allergy medications.

We measure if your immunotherapy is working by the severity of your allergy symptoms and how often you need to take additional allergy medications. Most patients will begin to notice their symptoms decrease, or that they do not need to take as many allergy medications, around 3-6 months of time. Some patients require longer.We will also send patients symptom trackers at times during their therapy via text so your doctors can also track if your symptoms are improving.We do not typically do repeat allergy testing since allergy tests check specifically for IgE antibodies, and immunotherapy does not change these, but rather seems to create other antibodies that improve symptoms. This is why we focus on allergy symptom relief.

Most patients are on therapy for about 3 years, while some patients may require longer. This time course has been shown in numerous clinical studies to provide long-term allergy relief even after you stop treatment.
